Global dynamics of the chemostat with overflow metabolism

چکیده
Fast growing E. coli cells, in glucose-aerobic conditions, excrete fermentation by-products such as acetate. This phenomenon is known overflow metabolism and has been observed a diverse range of microorganisms. In this paper, we study chemostat model subject to metabolism: if the substrate uptake rate (or specific growth rate) above threshold (different from zero), then secretion by-product happens. We assume that presence an inhibitory effect on microorganism. The described by non-smooth differential system dimension three. prove existence at most one equilibrium steady-state) with microorganism, which globally stable. use these results discuss performance chemostat-type systems produce biomass or recombinant proteins.

Global Dynamics of the Chemostat with Variable Yields
In this paper, we consider a competition model between n species in a chemostat including both monotone and non-monotone response functions, distinct removal rates and variable yields. We show that only the species with the lowest break-even concentration survives, provided that additional technical conditions on the growth functions and yields are satisfied. LaSalle’s extension theorem of the ...
متن کاملGlobal Dynamics of a Chemostat Competition Model with Distributed Delay
We study the global dynamics of n-species competition in a chemo-stat with distributed delay describing the time-lag involved in the conversion of nutrient to viable biomass. The delay phenomenon is modelled by the gamma distribution. The linear chain trick and a uctuation lemma are applied to obtain the global limiting behavior of the model. When each population can survive if it is cultured a...

متن کاملFood chain dynamics in the chemostat.
The asymptotic behavior of a tri-trophic food chain model in the chemostat is studied. The Monod-Herbert growth model is used for all trophic levels. The analysis is carried out numerically, by finding both local and global bifurcations of equilibria and of limit cycles with respect to two chemostat control parameters: the dilution rate of the chemostat and the concentration of input substrate....
متن کاملGlobal Asymptotic Behavior of a Chemostat Model with Discrete Delays
This paper studies the global asymptotic behavior of an exploitative competition model between n species in a chemostat. The model incorporates discrete time delays to describe the delay in the conversion of nutrient consumed to viable biomass and hence includes delays simultaneously in variables of nutrient and species concentrations. In the case where only two species are engaged in competiti...
